  After a day of kayaking, Duffy's was the Call of the Jungle... we were starving and, oddly, I was craving a beer. Yes. Odd.
  
  The place was morbidly packed. A sea of people indulging themselves in every type of deep- fried concoction. I wanted to be one of them... my clean system started to crave some bad cholesterol...
  
  So bad cholesterol it was... I started with the fried Mushrooms and a side of fries. To my surprise, Duffy's carry the infamous (vegan) Impossible Burger. Great.
  
  Happy to see that also had so many veggie options. Definitely its becoming super easy for vegans to hang out in these types of establishments.
  
  To satisfied my beer craving, and to honor tonight's Super New Moon (Sept 28), I washed out this high blood pressure extravaganza with a refreshing Blue Moon. Cheers!

  The Duffy's on North Miami Beach is unlike your typical go-to sports grill. Having been to the Flannigan's and Sports Grills of South Florida, I truly appreciated the concept Duffy's instills within their own locations. The setting is very nice as the overall layout of the restaurant is massive in square footage giving us the customers less of that crowded feeling when dining during a game. TVs are in abundance so dinners won't miss out on any highlight moments should their primary go to screen malfunctions. Yet the one detail that makes a difference is their lighting setting. Unlike your typical sports grill, they want you to see the layout of the restaurant in its entirety instead of dimming the lights. One can truly see the difference of what makes Duffy's a sports grill and not a sports bar! Lastly, much to our surprise the Duffy's on North Miami Beach has a waterfront view. The view is breathtaking, giving you what is probably the best alternative to watching commercials when enjoying a night out with friends, family, or a significant other.
  
  I digress, now let's talk about the juicy details. We ordered the Original Duffy's Cheeseburger along with the Crispy Calamari starter. The Crispy Calamari is coated in a decent layer of seasoned flour, garnished with crispy cherry peppers and accompanied with two in-house sauces: Marinara & their "Spicy Kickin' Bayou Sauce." The calamari are good, cultivating the blend of sweet and salty when combining the fried calamari with the sweet marinara sauce. The only issue was that the dish came basically 50/50 in terms of ratio of calamari to cherry pepper. I found this odd as we left half of our dish due to the majority being cherry peppers. It's kind of hard to differentiate as they are fried in the same seasoning as the calamari and will surprise those whom are not tolerate of spicy food with its flavor.  Next up was our entrée, the original Duffy's Cheeseburger. It is a juicy 1/2 lb certified Angus beef patty, grilled to the temp of your choosing to perfection. Topped with two slices of your choice of cheese, garnished with freshly chopped lettuce and tomatoes. You have the option of having pickles on the burger but like many opportunities in life, some are just best left not taken. The cheeseburger comes with a side of your choice, which we opted for the always reliable side of French fries. With one bite you can taste the difference in quality when eating a burger at Duffy's versus one at any other sports bar or grill establishment.
  
  Overall the evening was great at Duffy's, the service was phenomenal, and the food was good. I'll be back if I'm near the area to indulge in some of the many specials they offer on the weekdays.

  Restaurant with a GREAT VIEW but poor food and poor service
  
  So the view is absolutely fantastic, you're right on the water and its a great place to enjoy the sunset or watch the boats passing by. Even at night it's beautiful to see all the buildings across the water all lit up. Believe it or not finding a restaurant right on the water in Miami that doesn't cost an arm and a leg is hard to find so Duffys is great if you're looking for a great spot with a view right on the water but you go to Duffys for the view... not the food, not the drinks, and definitely not for the service...
  
  The food:
  So since they first opened their food has always been ok, but never great. They have a variety of items on the menu from wings to burgers to pastas to salads and everything always sounds really good and the pictures of the food look great but what you get never lives up to your expectations.
  
  Their wings are just ok, they come with two pieces of celery and two pieces of carrot and they always forget to bring them with ranch or blue cheese no matter how many times you ask for it.
  
  The mozzarella sticks are simply bad, I don't know what breading they use but they are not crispy or gooey they are breaded thick almost like corn dogs breading and inside the mozzarella cheese is hard and thick and not worth it.
  
  One of the worst plates I've had at Duffys though was the sesame crusted ahi tuna - stay far far away from this dish. The picture on the menu looks great but what you get in person looks nothing like it. We paid almost $20 for the large portion thinking we could share it but when it came out it was six or seven small pieces of old and very grey looking tuna and it didn't look fresh or appetizing at all. We sent it right back to the garbage where it looks like it came out of.
  
  The drinks:
  Yeah 2 for 1 is great but at this place all you get is watered down drinks not worth even $5 for 2. I've ordered everything from their mojitos to margaritas to martinis and they were all watered down weak and missing alcohol. I've paid a few times to add an extra shot of alcohol to the drinks... and still the drinks didn't taste any stronger. Save your money, and find any other happy hour place that serves actually alcoholic drinks and you'd be better off.
  
  The service:
  So the food isn't great and neither are the drinks... but the absolute worst thing about Duffys is their service. You can wait up to 45 mins for your 2nd round of drinks (that is if you can find your server) and they always have an attitude like by asking them for the 2nd round or a side of ranch you're making them have to go out of their way and work for it. Today we stopped in for dinner and ordered 4 glasses of water at least 6 or 7 times and our server Erik A finally brought them... when he dropped off the check. We asked for 1 to-go box at least 5 times and he always stopped by the table to check on us without the box or the water. When we got the check he still hadn't brought the box so we had to ask a manager to bring a box and they were able to do it in 2 mins.
  
  Overall, not very pleased with this place.

  Came here on a Sunday afternoon not realizing a big soccer game was going on. The parking lot was extremely full so we ended up paying $5 for valet parking. We were a part of 6 and they first told us the wait was going to be an hour, however, I think we waited only 30min before being seated. This is a great place to come and watch a game, there are TV's ALL around the restaurant, so no matter where you sit you will be able to get a good view of a TV. This sports bar sits right by the water so if you were seated outside you'd get a great view of the ocean. It also uniquely has a pool outside as well as a separate bar! Once at our table, it was really loud and somewhat difficult to hear the waitress depending on what side of the table you were sitting on, however, the service was overall really good.
  
  Appetizers: Loaded Nachos - were good but actually a very small size in comparison to the normal humongous amount of nachos I'm used to (as well as everyone else at the table), so we ordered an additional appetizer of salsa and guacamole, also very good.
  
  Entree: 10 boneless wings - sauces on the side were the "sweet buffalo" which did nothing for me, it does not taste like your regular buffalo sauce. Wouldn't recommend. The other sauce was firecracker - which I'm really happy I got because at least the flavor was good, I personally wouldn't say this it spicy at all.

  I repeat.  I do not like sports bars.  I like it quiet and sports bars are the extreme opposite of quiet.
  
  However Duffy's redeemed sports bars everywhere.  
  
  We went on the eve of game 6 of the NBA Finals between Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors.  Only one person in our party of four gave a hot flip about the game, so the rest of us just went along so she could watch a win or go home game for the Warriors.
  
  Was told there was an hour wait for a table, but after about 30 mins of waiting tables began coming available.  We saw a few larger parties leaving and asked the hostess why we were still waiting and there were obviously vacant tables open.  She explained they were tables for larger groups and they couldn't seat our party of 4 at a table designed for 7 or larger.  There was another party of 3 that had also been given an hour wait time and we decided that we'd group up and be sat together and just like that we were seated in about two minutes from discussing it with the hostess.
  
  Someone ordered the calamari and it was pretty tasty for sports bar calamari, the waitress explained that its fried with jalapeno peppers and is kinda spicy.  I like spicy and didn't think it was overly spicy or hot.
  
  The buffalo wings were huge compared to what I'm use to.  Plenty of meat and fried to perfection.  The baby back ribs were a big hit for the two people in our party that ordered them.
  
  There is literally no angle that you can sit and not have a clear direct view of the many TVs they have.
  
  There was a 18% "service charge" added to our tabs.  Not sure if that is because we were seated as a table of 7 of if they do that for all checks.  Our party of four requested separate checks and each of us were charged the service fee.
  
  I wouldn't says the waitress was quick or slow, keeping in mind it was a packed house because of the game, so time lagged between some table visits, but overall she was available and seemed to be trying to be attentive to our group.
  
  They were doing a BOGO drink special that evening so I got two Top Shelf Long Island Ice Teas for $11.  I've never had that happen.
